I figured I need a real blog, with a proper domain name as I totally didn’t look professional.. more like a Profreshinal*!
I thought I’d start at the very beginning by explaining my username – Serentonin.

Serentonin is a handle I’ve used for awhile, since I started using the internet and that then started migrating into my art and how I’d stamp and signature my work. I also started signing up to numerous accounts avoiding using my real name because I was always for anonymity. Plus you just have to agree, the name Serentonin is just way cooler than my actual name!

Serentonin is kinda like a play on words, combining the two words Serendipity and Serotonin and for me the name has always been closely linked to my creative thought process. I’ve always found art to be an outlet for me, considered my happy place, so anything I experimented with through digital art, Photoshop, Illustrator, collages, zine techniques, photography, poetry, research, writing, brainstorming to me that’s my place of exploration. Art is a hobby and my escape to where I’m free to express myself. I find it quite fitting that the word Serotonin is the name of the chemical in the brain associated with happiness, and Serendipity is about making discoveries while looking for something unrelated. That last part is definitely me and sometimes the end result of art concepts that never turned out to what I initially thought would.

Anyways, welcome to me. The place where I’m real and say what I see, observe, recollect and talk about music I’m listening to, post up some artwork, write about my ideas, talk about my dreams, hopes aspirations and reflect on random things. I’m not even going to promise you anything from this blog, it’s solely for the purpose for me to write and say whatever it is I have on my mind. Which highlights the need for me to state somewhere on this blog that my views are my own and don’t reflect the opinions of the company I work for, blah blah blah.

*Side note, I have a tendency to make up my own words, abbreviations, acronyms and also I write down a lot of fobby words and neologisms, so be forewarned* (I use these as concepts for artwork too)
