Be Like Water, My Friend
Don’t get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water.
Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water.
Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup;
You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle;
You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot.
Now water can flow or it can crash.
Be water, my friend.
Could this all be possible in the future?

That’s Incredibooth
“A Photo Booth in Your Pocket”
Is exactly what Incredibooth is! This application allows you to take photos from your Iphone or Ipad as if you’re in a photobooth. I had lots of fun using this application at the Southside Social creative networking event held at Fresh Gallery Otara and thought I’d share these bad boys on my blog. Thanks to everyone that let me take their pic on the night

THAT’S MY BLAWG!
Okay well not my Dawg, but that’s my blawg! (aka Blog). My blog has been selected as a finalist for the Concrete Playground The Bloggers 2011

At first, my reaction was – “What?… No way!” So I’m feeling Like a Boss and I wanted to extend a big thanks to those that nominated me, as I was totally surprised!
I have lots to do in the way of developing and progressing with this blog, so to be selected as a finalist is just awesome. With so much to learn it’s good to know that I’m on the right track. What’s exciting about this is the motivation and determination to keep going and continuing to write, express my thoughts and share my ideas and design progress.
Today marks the date when when the public can vote. I’m up against some big contenders so if you’d like to support me I’d greatly appreciate if you can go to this link and look for the screenshot of my blog titled “Serentonin”, (as highlighted in pink in pic below) and click LIKE to vote for me.
My blog Serentonin is listed under the Design and Photography Category. I appreciate your votes and support. Cheers peeps.

Polyslang!
Last night I got my RAW on and attended The AUT 2011 Art+Design Festival. It is a showcase of art work from a variety of media, design disciplines and art practices from Art graduates and students.
I went to support my friend, Visual Artist Cerisse Palalagi to check out her exhibition on display about “Polyslang”.

The exhibition is titled #SWWDT (See What We Did There) Polyslang – not just as a coded, hybrid language, but as a way of being and state of mind.
And is a documentation of research and body of work exploring language and colloquialism used on Social Networking site Twitter. Her artwork incorporates quotes and the use of words, abbreviations and neologisms from people she talks to online – From #Teampoly quotes, hashtags and topic streams her work shares the language from multicultural and Polynesian internet communities.

Through Cerrise’s work she explores and interprets what these conversations mean through a glossary of terms and provides explanations of how one not accustomed to or foreign to these conversations can interpret and come to understand what they mean. In a sense I feel it is positive having cracked up at a few of the quotes, because they are conversations I can easily relate to and understand, but through Cerisse’s works she is able to shed some light and provide meaning into what these conversations are about to a wider audience.
Be sure to check out Cerrise’s work from 10 – 12 November at AUT Wellesley Campus
St Paul Street / Mount Street
Auckland CBD

Formerly Manukau Festival of Arts, the Southside Arts Festival 2011 provides an exciting platform to showcase the creative excellence of artists and promote the innovation in arts that is unique to South Auckland.
Running from 14 October to 6 November, the festival is taking place at a wide variety of venues throughout the region with over 30 diverse and exciting arts events on offer including theatre, music, fashion, dance, film, sculpture, visual arts and community events. Many of the events are free and this year’s festival is looking to be bigger and better than ever!

I’m really excited to be involved in the Southside Arts Festival this year! Here are a few reasons why:
1. I am a graphic designer, I love art and have a deep appreciation for people that are creative and share their passion through their talents.
2. I live in South Auckland so a lot of these events will be in Southside, Auckland area!
3. I think it’s pretty cool that the Auckland Council are behind a festival that celebrates the diversity and talents of people in South Auckland in our community (thumbs ups!!)
4. A lot of these events will not cost you an arm or leg – you’ll be surprised that some of these are FREE! (Shot cuz!)
5. The potential to meet new people and also learn new things – the cultural diversities we have in our communities make South Auckland a very unique, vibrant and interesting place to live – it’s time we soak it up and enjoy that we have something very special living here.
6. I’ll be supporting the festival by attending the events, blogging, tweeting and sharing updates on what’s happening and what’s on offer!
Keep these 2 weeks free in your calendar 14th October – 2nd November because you don’t want to miss out this year!

My Facebook Pretties
Thanks to Pretty Social , a dutch website that I seemed to have navigated my through successfully to generate this poster of all my Facebook friends profile pictures. I can now see everyone I have as a friend on Facebook in this one image. Although I have in total 275 friends on Facebook, it only generated (14X19sq) 266 of my friends.
Sorry if you are of the 9 people that are missing from this lovely poster.
