For music enthusiasts and lovers! The Mixer 2 concert returns for a second time with a great line up of musical talent.
In partnership with Niu FM, Southside Arts Festival brings to the stage the soulful voices of RIA and Rosita Vai along with K One, Tyson Tyler, Pieter T, DJCXL and many more with the headline act to be revealed this Friday (15th October!)
Due to popular demand returning back to perform is Three Houses Down and Anonymouz & the Hypnotics.

Colour the Sky – Kite Festival is a council event which comes under the banner of the Southside Festival of Arts which falls between the months of October and November. The kite festival brings together different cultures, celebrating the diversity of our communities through kite flying.Workshops will be held on site on the day. This will be a free family orientated event, and we hope to attract as many children and families as possible on the day with wonderful kite flyers who will be onsite on the day to showcase some of their stunning designs as part of Colour the Sky – Kite Festival 2011. months of October and November. ‘Frangipani The Fairy’s – Great SOUTHSIDE Adventure’ is one of the many community events in this year’s Southside Arts Festival, Auckland 2011.
‘Frangipani The Fairy’s Great SOUTHSIDE Adventure ‘is a performing arts adventure that will be held at Auckland’s Botanical Gardens. Brought to you by Lima Productions. The venue is a pretty exciting site to host a variety of cross-cultural performances and made for families. You’ll venture through a trail with Hip-Hopping Monkeys, Singing Sirens, Dancing Lupes, Comic Kuma’s and mythical creatures, Tahiwha, Witches, Elves and the Sly Wolf.
Here is a video of a contemporary Samoan Dance tribute to Manu Samoa, ‘La’u Lupe’ to give you a taste on what will be on offer.

On a musical high
I’m writing this now on a musical high, well lets call it a music hangover as I got to see Brian McKnight, one of the most talented musicans of all time perform tonight at the Civic in Auckland. I was moved beyond words and overcome by emotion hearing him live. Straight up, I’ve never heard anyone sing live like him with such diverse singing and musical range!
