Creative Networking in South Auckland

The Southside Social is a one-off creative industries networking experience! The format will follow that of an art speed-dating event, where invited panellists’ will have a set amount of time to share industry knowledge with participants. In a relaxed and fun environment audiences will also be exposed to a diverse range of entertainment, from video projection to dance to performance art.

Presented by the new Faculty of Creative Arts, Manukau Institute of Technology in partnership with Fresh Gallery Otara, the Southside Social promises to be a unique night of live social networking. Come along and meet artists and curators and industry movers and shakers! Ask the questions that you have always wanted to ask and get a taste of the creative energy coming out of South Auckland.

COLOUR THE SKY - KITE FESTIVAL 2011

Colour the Sky – Kite Festival
 is a council event which comes under the banner of the Southside Festival of Arts which falls between the months of October and November. The kite festival brings together different cultures, celebrating the diversity of our communities through kite flying.Workshops will be held on site on the day. This will be a free family orientated event, and we hope to attract as many children and families as possible on the day with wonderful kite flyers who will be onsite on the day to showcase some of their stunning designs as part of Colour the Sky – Kite Festival 2011. months of October and November. The kite festival brings together different cultures, celebrating the diversity of our communities through kite flying.

Southside Arts Festival is an annual event held from 14th October – 6 November which showcases the arts, music, dance, film, food and culture of South Auckland.
